Welcome to the Dan Southworth Chronicles—the official blog for news, updates, and other fun stuff from Dan Southworth himself! Allow me to introduce myself—my name is Susan, or Suzy-Q if you like, and I work for my friend Dan on his Facebook pages, YouTube channel, etc. All of the info that I dish out to you guys is straight from Dan himself, so you can rely on it.

So let’s start with a bit of a bio, shall we?

Dan is an accomplished actor with wide experience in feature films, television shows, motion capture, voice over, and commercials. Certainly most of you know of his work on Power Rangers Time Force as the brooding, lone wolf Eric Myers—the Quantum Ranger. Did you also know that Danny worked for Saban doing the live touring shows long before AND after his stint on Time Force? That’s right. He auditioned for the role of Adam along with Johnny Yong Bosch back in the day. Johnny was given the part on the show, but Dan took on the role of the Black Ranger in the live show for quite a while.

So how did he move from the touring show and being a stuntman on the TV series to actually being a Ranger? Well, it started with Lightspeed Rescue. Dan had auditioned for the role of the Blue Ranger and the casting people at Saban did like him, but Koichi Sakamoto himself had a better idea. He thought that Danny was way too dominate of a personality to play opposite Sean Johnson who had already been cast as the Lightspeed Red Ranger. He knew that the role of Eric Myers was coming up very soon and he thought Dan would be perfect for it.

Daniel first appeared as Eric Myers in episode 12 of Time Force--he became
the Quantum Ranger just a few episodes later.

Turns out he was right! The rest is history, as they say. Dan stepped out of his role as stuntman on the show—though he still did most of his own stunts—and became the Quantum Ranger. He’s widely regarded as one of the most popular Rangers in the franchise to this day. Good work, Koichi!

After Time Force ended, Dan did return to the role in a couple of crossover episodes with the Wild Force cast, but he also continued to work with the live shows from time to time coordinating and performing stunts as well as starring as one of the Rangers. Over the years he portrayed several Rangers on stage, one of which being the Lost Galaxy Red Ranger.

Next time we’ll discuss Devil May Cry and his vast experience with the gaming industry. He has worked on a couple of really big titles coming out soon, so you don’t want to miss this!

That's it for now. Check back for Part 2 of the bio when we'll talk about Devil May Cry and all of his other video game work!
